Rustic but comfortable rooms provided a decent atmosphere for relaxation. The proximity to Lassen was a major plus, allowing for easy access to outdoor activities.
WiFi only functional at the store, which isn't ideal for those needing connectivity. Limited dining options with a high-priced hotel restaurant and long wait times for food compounded the experience. Additionally, issues with hot water were frustrating and communication about it was lacking when checking in.

Staying here with my family, including our 2 adult kids, was fantastic! We loved the sweeping views of the meadows, and the outdoor cafe created such a cozy atmosphere. The cosmic art show at night felt magical against the mountain backdrop.
My kids wished there were more activities to keep them entertained.

Recommend it for nature lovers
The little breakfast area was a game changer with a microwave and coffee maker, perfect for fueling up before hitting the trails. After a long day hiking in that fine landscape, it was very nice to crash in a clean, cozy room and enjoy the morning sun flooding in.
It wasn't cheap, but still acceptable for what it offered.

Staying at the Village At Childs Meadow was a pleasant surprise! The King Room, Disability Access felt cozy with a comfortable bed and fun retro posters on the walls. Morning views of the meadow were a wonderful way to start each day. The location made it easy to visit Lassen National Park, which I loved. Dining options were convenient, especially with Frank's just a short trip away for quick breakfast meals. However, the room could have been better. The TV didn't work throughout my stay, which was a letdown after a busy day. It would have helped to have more space for clothes and toiletries, as it felt a bit cramped. I would encourage travelers to check it out, particularly for its excellent atmosphere.

I stayed in the King Room, Disability Access and it was pretty cozy. The bed was super comfy and I loved the retro posters in the room—really gave it character. However, it was a bit annoying that the TV didn’t work, which was a letdown after a long day. Also, the lack of space for clothes and toiletries was frustrating. But overall, it was a nice place to relax after exploring the area.

Exploring over 200 miles of hiking trails was a highlight, and the spots around those trails offered stunning views. We also enjoyed some cosmic art beneath a starry sky. Just a heads up, there were some limited amenities like the onsite shop's hours.
We had some frustrations with the housekeeping, which missed replenishing coffee supplies during our stay.
